Boost your guest experience with mobile keys
WHY DIGITAL KEYS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR YOUR HOTEL
When Travelport surveyed 16,000 travelers from 25 countries for its 2018 Digital Travel Survey, it found that 50% of business travelers want to use a mobile key to unlock their hotel room keys. Also known as digital keys, mobile keys allow guests to unlock doors easily via an app on their smartphone, giving them access to their mobile room key and the hotel's security system.
The mobile revolution is here, and it is driving conditions for hospitality not only in the United States, but also in Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world. Instead of checking in at reception or picking up the phone to order food, hotel guests can unlock their room doors with their mobile devices.
By 2020, 73% of guests would download an app to give them the keys to their rooms as part of their travel plans.
Hotels can meet this need with mobile check-in technology and key mobile technology that gives guests access to their room keys via their smartphones, tablets or other mobile devices.
The mobile key can be programmed to be used at any time of the day or night, eliminating the need for a button at the hotel reception or even on the front door of a hotel room. The technology is not limited to hotel rooms, but can also be used to manage employees, visitors and suppliers who use the back door. In addition to ensuring tranquility for all those who legally access your property, the rooms of the guests are also secured.
Many hotel chains already use key mobile management systems (MMS), such as Apple's App Store and Google's Google Play Store, to provide seamless check-in options for guests, as the Coronavirus has forced hotels and hospitality to adapt to new security and operational practices.
